Can a student get Cal Poly Pomona Financial Aid? Winners get $10,000 each year for up to four years (a total of $40,000) to use at a four-year college or university. They also get a paid summer internship at Amazon after their first year of college.
To be eligible for the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship, you need to:
- Be a citizen of the United States, a permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the U.S.
- Be a high school senior in the U.S. and either currently taking or have completed a computer science course in high school or college. If you haven’t taken such a course, you can take an assessment provided by Amazon.
- Plan to earn a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related field from a four-year college (or plan to transfer from a two-year college to a four-year college).
- Have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent).
- Show financial need.
American Indian College Fund
Cal Poly Pomona offers scholarships to American Indian and Alaska Native students who are pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees at tribal colleges, nonprofit schools, and accredited institutions.
Eligibility
To apply for a scholarship, you must:
- Be a Native American U.S. citizen.
- Be a member or descendant of a state or federally recognized tribe.
- Have at least a 2.0 grade point average.
- Be enrolled as a full-time student.
Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Program
The Asian & Pacific Islander American (APIA) Scholarship Program offers awards ranging from $2,500 for one year to $20,000 for multiple years. APIA Scholars focuses on helping AANHPI (Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander) students who:
- Live at or below the poverty line.
- Are the first in their families to attend college.
- Represent the diversity of the APIA community, including those from ethnic groups that are underrepresented in colleges due to limited access and opportunities.
Strong candidates also demonstrate a commitment to community service and leadership.
California Strawberry Commission Scholarship
The California Strawberry Scholarship Program was created by growers to support California strawberry farmworkers and their children in achieving their educational and career goals. The scholarship funds can be used for either academic or vocational programs.
Primary Qualifications
To qualify for the scholarship, you must:
- Be a first-time applicant with a parent who is currently employed as a California strawberry fieldworker for the current and previous two harvest seasons. (Applicants who are employed as California strawberry fieldworkers also qualify.)
- Be enrolled full-time in a trade school, community college, four-year university, or graduate/professional program during the scholarship period.
- Maintain a Grade Point Average of 2.0 or higher.
Coca-Cola Scholars Program
The Coca-Cola Scholars Program is a merit-based scholarship for high school seniors about to graduate. It recognizes students for their leadership, service, and dedication to making a positive impact on their schools and communities. Each year, 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected to receive a $20,000 scholarship.
Primary Qualifications
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must:
- Be a high school senior graduating from a school in the U.S.
- Be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Permanent Resident, Refugee, Asylee, Cuban-Haitian Entrant, or Humanitarian Parolee (as per the U.S. Department of Education’s Title IV Financial Aid eligibility guidelines).
- Expect to receive a high school diploma during the current academic year.
- Plan to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution.
- Have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 in high school coursework.
Things to be considered
There are several things you need to remember when you are planning to get a financial aid for your study in Cal Poly Pomona. Many students make a mistake by submitting both FAFSA and Dream Application. While actually what the university need is either FAFSA or Dream Application.
